Just look at the face of this little darling! Doesn't she look happy knowing she is buckled up in a safe and properly fitted car seat?
We all know that child safety seats prevent injuries and save lives, but far too many babies and toddlers in Oklahoma go without one, simply because their families can’t afford it. That’s why we're partnering with SafeKids Oklahoma to provide car seats to about 60 needy families this weekend.
The car seat distribution event will take place Saturday, August 24, 2013 from 9 a.m. to noon in the parking lot of Infant Crisis Services main location at 4224 North Lincoln Blvd. Car seats will be distributed on a first-come first-served basis. In other words, get here early!
In addition to providing the car seats for a small $10 donation, we will have trained and certified car seat technicians on hand to properly fit and install them for you.
Here's how to qualify:
- The caregiver receiving the car seat must be the legal guardian of the child.
- The baby/toddler must be present, or the mom-to-be must be within 8 weeks of her due date.
- The car brought to the event must be the vehicle the baby is in most often.
- The family is receiving state/federal assistance. (WIC, SNAP, Medicare, TANF)
Our hope is that all babies in Oklahoma are safely secured every time they are in a vehicle.
