In one corner of the playroom there is a tiny kitchen with a tiny table and chairs. At the table, toddlers sit together sipping tea, nibbling on a snack or sharing their childhood thoughts. New friendships are formed in the kitchen over washing dishes and putting away the food. Sometimes even the barnyard animals stop by for a visit. But one of my favorite sights to see is a staff member or volunteer sitting in the too small chairs sipping on air or enjoying a fake apple or pear. It's good to know the art of make believe is not lost on us as we get older.
