Teen Opportunities

Summer Teen Volunteer Program

The Infant Crisis Services Summer Teen Volunteer program is open to teens 13-17 years old who are interested in giving back to their community. Teens are selected after completing an application and interview process. Only 20 positions are available. Teens are expected to serve six four hour shifts (24 hours total). The shift will be 10:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Responsibilities include processing donations, stocking shelves, sorting clothes, office tasks, assisting adult volunteers with clients and reading to and interacting with the babies and children.

Verification of volunteer hours will be provided and if requested, letters of recommendation to colleges or employers will also be made available.

Teen Associate Board

We are looking for mature, responsible, compassionate teens that enjoy working with people and are leaders among their peers. The Teen Associate Board offers you an opportunity to contribute in a meaningful way to the community. Teens will learn valuable work experience as well as the opportunity to plan a live and silent auction to benefit Infant Crisis Services. Teen Associate Board Members are selected after they have completed the application and interview process.

Requirements to apply for the Teen Associate Board:

  • Enrolled in high school.
  • Be able to serve a one year term that begins in September and ends in July.
  • Teen Associate Board Members are required to volunteer a minimum of one (1) hour at Infant Crisis Services to learn more about the agency.
  • Teen Associate Board Members are required to attend a minimum of 9 out of 12 Teen Associate Board meetings. The monthly meetings are generally held the first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m.
  • Verification of volunteer hours will be provided and if requested, letters of recommendation to colleges or employers will also be made available.
  • Teens are required to send a letter of resignation if unable fulfill their responsibilities on the Board.
